Happy New Year to all of our BeadTrove friends!
This is a great time of year, life seems to slow down a bit after the busy holiday season and there is time to start new projects and plan even more projects.
Here are a few new things Kathryn and Krytie have been playing with lately.
Kathryn used her flat beading skills (or as the Alaska Natives of our area say "sewing skills") to made beaded embroidery patches. She then sewed trim and the patches on to a pair of gloves. Keeping the bead work on the patches flat is not as easy as it appears, it is hard not to add too many beads and end up with a very lumpy product.
Krystie found out that one can knit with wire, not just yarn,
so she created a couple of bracelets using knitted wire.
The wire was knit, smoothed and then filled with crystals for an extra sparkly finish.
Wrapped bracelets have also been on the beading tray the last couple of weeks, this one was created using gem stones and size 8 seed beads.
Kathryn's newest project has been putting her peyote and brick stitch expertise to work, making a box from beads.
The finished project will be posted when it is done, it promises to be amazing!
The New Year promises lots of new experiences and hopefully amazing creations!
Here's to a wonderful 2016!
