Since our January kit has been avalible for a couple of weeks, here are a few hints and tips for a sucessful project.
Christi Uliczny uses a netting technique throughout the project, if you haven't ever used that technique or would like to learn more about it here are a couple of resources that are very informative.
Another technique Christi used is fringing: it is easy to have problems with fringe if your tension is too tight. Here is another great tutorial from Fusion Beads on fringe methods:
Christi's pattern also incorporates a picot edging, be sure to follow the directions carefully on steps 8 -10 so that the picot stands out well.
Throughout your project keep your tension fairly loose, you have to go through beads several times and if you tighten up the netting too much it makes it very difficult to get your needle back through...I should have taken a picture of one of the needles after we finished a pendant; it looked more like a snake than a needle.
If you have any issues please email us at email@example.com and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Have lots of fun, we will post pictures of finished projects next week!
